The Worst Mistake New Bloggers Make

The Worst Mistake New Bloggers Make

Blogging Tips

I don’t know what it is, but my one-on-one consulting clients all start out believing that an Internet business is not a real business.
They don’t realize that they can make real money, achieve real financial security, and obtain peace of mind without going into someone else’s office every single day.
A blogging business without a plan in place is wasting time.
Because an Internet blogging entrepreneur (sometimes called a blogpreneur) doesn’t have to negotiate for land, purchase equipment, secure bank loans, and otherwise start their business thousands, even millions in debt, many believe that they are not real businessmen.
This misconception causes many profit bloggers to treat their blogging as a hobby, rather than a business. They don’t plan their blog, and as a result, they don’t make any money from that blog.
You get halfhearted results from a halfhearted effort.
On the other hand, if you take the time to really study your business and plan your products and services, leaving room for scalability and expansion, you infuse profitability into that blog.
That planning makes the difference between you and the 90% of bloggers who want to, yet fail to make a profit with their blogging.
Internet marketers and entrepreneurs will tell you that all you have to do is a couple of hours of work and then you’re suddenly raking in thousands of dollars a week. When have you actually known that to work for a business?
What I can tell you is that the longer you work, the faster you can fuel your business.
Your business requires a commitment
To run a successful Internet blogging business, you need to plan to run a business. If you decide to run headfirst into creating a blogging business, you’ll find that you might not receive all of the money that you were expecting.
You’ve got to put effort into it.
Plan for that effort and plan to make a commitment to your business. Even if you’re working at a full time job right now, tell yourself that you’re going to spend a certain amount of time on your blogging business every single day.
Make the commitment to yourself and to the business to do this for at least three months.
Planning the Business
Once you’ve made the decision to run your own Internet business, you’re ahead of a lot of people. Approaching this like a business means that you have to put in time and energy. You’ll also realize benefits last far longer than if you hadn’t taken the time to plan this out.
Before you go into business, answer these five questions:
Why do you want to go into business? – The answer to this question will take your business from being a pie-in-the-sky idea into being an actual, real business.
Your reason for bringing life to the business will craft the answers to the other questions.
To whom are you selling that product or service? – In order to make money from those products and services, there needs to be someone willing to purchase them.
Your products and services don’t have value until they’re sold.
What is your product or service? – Without products and services, you’re asking for people to give you money out of the goodness of their heart or appealing to their love of the human race. It’s not a business foundation.
Where are you selling your product or service? – You’re selling your products on the Internet, of course, but what is your main selling vehicle? Are you planning on selling your goods and services on Amazon?
Do you want it to be sold through your website? The product and the audience will determine the venue.
How are you telling your customers about your product or service?
Whether you’re standing on the street corner or running a multi-platform interactive marketing campaign, you still need to get out the message of your product or service.
These five questions are listed in order of importance. I believe that you should find a customer base, then find something to sell them rather than the other way around.
Many bloggers take more time to perfect their product without even realizing if they have a market for it, it’s crazy.
Your planning starts with a why, then goes to the what and then the how.
Once you’ve figured out the answers to these five important questions, you’re ready to start your Internet blogging business.
In the next post, I’m going to talk about the many ways you can use to find the purpose for your business.
